Drink to a Gin Palace

One of Europe’s most luxurious hotels, The Langham, London hotel will team up with Sipsmith for the launch of the Sipsmith Gin Palace. Gin Palaces were popular gin joints in the 1800s, and this weekend, the hotel will transform the Palm Court—usually an afternoon tea room— into an opulent 19th century gin palace. There will be different cocktails to choose from; cocktails that represent over 300 years of gin distillery since its creation in 1690. And the ever-famous G&T will be featured like never before—from its creation in 1793 to a modern 2012 twist thanks to the creation of molecular mixology.

The Langham, London is rewinding history to the day it opened in 1865 to mark Sipsmith distillery’s opening in late 2009 and to celebrate that it’s the first copper distillery in London in over 200 years. gin and tonic
